The conference committee will be meeting this Sunday evening so if you have a topic in mind for the March 7th ACSE 2026 conference I would encourage you to submit your proposal soon so we can start to build the program and get our conference site up and running before the break.

The ACSE executive has started to plan for our annual ACSE conference.

Following the recent success of our first TAS mini-conference at St Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Maple (just north of Toronto) we will be using the same location for ACSE 2026.

We will continue to offer TAS1O/2O sessions at ACSE 2026 focusing on Electronics, Coding, and Design for new teachers. ACSE 2026 will continue to offer sessions for Grade 10-12 Computer Studies and Grade 11-12 Computer Engineering.

Please complete this Google Form if you are interested in possibly presenting at ACSE 2026. We are looking for topics in Grade 10-12 Computer Studies, Grade 11-12 Computer Engineering, and Grade 9-10 Technology and the Skilled Trades.

The TAS Conference is coming up on Oct 18th and tickets are almost sold out!

ACSE is pleased to announce a TAS Teachers Conference on October 18th, 2025!

Are you teaching the new Technology and the Skilled Trades (TAS) curriculum and looking for practical, hands-on resources? TAS Teachers Conference is your chance to connect with fellow educators, explore ready-to-use classroom projects, and gain confidence teaching TAS — whether you’re experienced or newly assigned.

This one-day, in-person event is designed and delivered by teachers, for teachers.

What You’ll Learn:

• How to design and deliver lessons to support student projects using the Engineering Design Process as described in the TAS course
• Scaffolded electronics projects : lessons to establish fundamental knowledge and skills, simulating circuits using Tinkercad, breadboarding, and soldering – take home a fully functional soldered LED flasher kit that your students can complete in the classroom
• Scaffolded coding projects using block-based coding (Micro:bit / Makecode) and text-based alternatives (Python)
• How artificial intelligence can support teachers in the classroom
• Design projects: Measurement and 2D design (scaled drawings) and fabrication using Tinkercad and 3D printing
• Integrated projects that include coding, robotics and design
• Low-tech build projects for any classroom
• Ideas that support both strands A and B of the curriculum

Dear ACSE Community,

We regret to inform you of the cancellation of the ACSE 2025 Conference. This difficult decision follows a careful review of registration numbers and unforeseen challenges related to the conference venue.

Despite the initial enthusiasm and the dedicated efforts of our organizing committee, we unfortunately did not reach the minimum number of attendees necessary for financial viability.  This, combined with unexpected issues concerning the originally booked venue, has made it impossible to proceed with the conference as planned.

We understand this news is disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate the commitment of those who registered and planned to attend. The ACSE 2025 Conference Organizing Committee is actively exploring alternative ways to foster community engagement and collaboration within the ACSE community in the near future.  We will share further details on these alternative plans as soon as they are available.

We will be sending out a Google form next week, and urge you all to please fill it out so we can start to prepare for the next ACSE event. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the ACSE community.

A friendly reminder about the ACSE Conference 2025, taking place at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Maple on Saturday, February 22nd, from 8 am to 4 pm.  This year’s conference promises to be even better than ever!

Early registration is crucial so we can run the event.  Due to decreased conference attendance across the board since the pandemic, we need your commitment to ensure this valuable event goes ahead.  If we don’t reach a minimum number of attendees, the conference will unfortunately be cancelled.  Currently, we are at 14 attendees and we need at least 40 attendees to make the event feasible.  If we do not achieve the threshold of 40 participants by the 7th of February, we will have to unfortunately cancel the event.  We do not wish to do this and we hope we can encourage you to join us.
