We’re excited to announce that the ACSE Conference 2025 will be held at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Maple! Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 22nd, from 8 am to 4 pm.

Here are the key details:

• Location: Saint Joan of Arc Catholic High School, 1 St. Joan Of Arc Avenue, Maple L6A 1W9 
• Parking: Free and ample parking is available on site.
• Accessibility: A bus stop is conveniently located at the bottom of the school, and the Maple Go Station is a short 2 km away (approximately a 30-minute walk).

We’ve been working hard to make this conference informative, engaging, and valuable for you.

For members of our community who are not sure whether to attend:

I understand that some of you may be hesitant to attend this year’s conference. Unfortunately, conference participation is currently down across the board. Since the pandemic, many of our sister associations have seen a significant drop in attendance, and this has caused concern among those of us who organize these events.

If early enrollment does not meet a certain level, the ACSE executive will have no choice but to cancel this year’s conference. We don’t want to see that happen, especially for a conference that is so useful, fun, and affordable.

As the conference organizer, I urge you to reconsider and join us. Your presence will make a big difference.

Here are a few reasons why I think you’ll benefit from attending:

• Reconnect with colleagues: Share ideas, learn from one another, and build your professional network.
• Stay up-to-date: Discover the latest trends and best practices in our field.
• Support your community: Your participation helps ensure the continued success of our association.

The committee has gone through all the presentation proposals and have confirmed the 16 different presentations that will be available at this year’s ACSE Conference on Feb 22, 2025.  There are 4 presentations for attendees to choose from within each of the 4 tracks: Computer Science, Computer Technology, Pedagogy, and TAS1O/TAS2O.

While the schedule for that day has not yet been finalized, the list of presentations is now available on the ACSE Conference website. You can find it on the Conference Schedule page while we complete the schedule.

Registration is open with Early Bird pricing in effect until early February. Please register asap by visiting the Conference Registration page.

In the past, we had several teachers bring their SHSM students (for their reach ahead), and or students who were interested in CS, or CE.  Students had a reduced conference rate, and we are hoping that this year this will happen again. If you are planning on bringing students or you have specific questions about the conference, please email Rob Ceccato directly.    

Finally, please share this with your colleagues, school board liaison, department heads, and computer/technology consultants, so we can make this conference our largest one yet!

Hello ACSE, we wanted to let you all know that the registration for the ACSE 2025 Conference is now open. Here is the direct link to the registration page: https://acse.net/acse2025/registration/

Our plan is to hold the event at Seneca Polytechnic (Newnham Campus). However, we do have a backup location just in case we cannot use Seneca due to job actions at the college.

Our backup location will be Saint Joan of Arc Catholic High School, here is the address:  1 St Joan of Arc Ave, Maple, ON L6A 1W9.

We hope to confirm the location by mid January 2025, and if we do need to move it to the Saint Joan of Arc venue, we will update the ACSE Conference 2025 website with all the necessary details. (Bus routes, TTC and Go Train instructions and directions). 

The conference day will include 4 sessions within each of the following tracks:

-Computer Science (Presentations that relate to teaching ICD2O/ICS3x/ICS4x course codes)
-Computer Technology (Presentations that relate to teaching TEJ/TEx course codes)
-Pedagogical Topics (e.g. use of AI, other general CS topics)
-Teaching TAS1/2O: Grade 9/10 Technology & the Skilled Trades

We are also going to have a keynote speaker during lunch.

As we head into the Christmas season I wanted to give you all a quick update on our ACSE Conference for Saturday February 22nd 2025 at Seneca Polytechnic.

Due to the possibility of a looming strike at the colleges, we are currently looking at other venues where we can host the event.

We are still going to stay with our February 22nd date, and as such, we are hoping to open up registration over the Christmas Break, or just before it.  

Please continue to look for an email from the ACSE discussion group over the next few days with more details about the conference.

Hello everyone, the 2025 ACSE Conference organizers have been busy looking at the amazing sessions that we will be hosting for our tentative date of Saturday February 22nd at Seneca Polytechnic Newnham Campus. 

We have many sessions that will run on the 4 following tracks:
-Computer Science (Presentations that relate to teaching ICD2O/ICS3x/ICS4x course codes)
-Computer Technology (Presentations that relate to teaching TEJ/TEx course codes)

As you can see, you really need to start planning to come to this one-day event.  If you are looking for funding, you can always ask your principal, your union, the OTF, and you can also access SHSM funds for this event.

Good day everyone, on behalf of the ACSE Conference Planning Committee, we would like to inform you that the tentative date for the ACSE Conference will be Saturday February 22nd, 2025.  Once again this is tentative, and the event will be held in the GTA.  

We hope now that we have a tentative date that people can look forward too, we can get more proposals for the conference.  We would really like to see some Computer Science related proposals to help round out what we have so far, however, if you are passionate about what you are currently doing, or have some really great ideas or pedagogy, then please click on the link below, and we will get back to you.

Since the Call for Proposals for the February ACSE Conference had closed, the planning committee have now opened it again and extended it to Friday December 6^th now that we have a tentative date.
